This is another in the series of strip designer assisted blogs explaining some of the apps that I use. Previous blog was about Fractals.
My most recent uploads have started life in the Fluid Motion app -

The app store explains -
+ Full resolution, high frame-rate, cutting edge graphics
+ Make your own colour sets, or choose from preset color combinations
+ Low and high level control over field customization + Set of high level options to customize global motion such as speed, randomness, scaling and translations
+ Includes a custom field editor with velocity brush to shape the underlying movement
+ Choose from different brush types
+ Single or dual touch
+ Quick pause - top corners
+ Frame-by-frame viewing
+ Snapshot button saves to 'saved photos' folder
+ Infinite amount of possible variation
There's also a silent video which sheds a little more light on the menu.

So I've been crawling out of bed much earlier these days and greeting the day early, right around the time goldfinches and sparrows perch on treetops to warm their feathers. It's a magical time of day - sacred, even - and I'm growing to love it more each morning.
I sit on my patio surrounded by all the morning sounds: birdsong, gentle breeze, and an occasional car engine responding to a turned key. I sip my cup of coffee, think about all the ways God has blessed my life, and just breathe in the beauty all around me. Life is sweet, and I feel grateful to have a supportive family, work I love, and friends who understand that us creative types are wired a little differently.
What's your favorite time of day to just sit and reflect?

.......doesn't it?
I've had a relatively steady time business wise. Beadybird is jogging along nicely. Not too quiet, not too busy, just right.... The Silver Starling (my alter, alter ego....no wonder I'm confused - www.thesilverstarling.etsy.com) was not quite jogging, more strolling but that's okay because she's really just a wee fledgling - still learning what works and what doesn't. What works is lovely, yummy, bridal leaves and what doesn't is trying to skimp on silver....we live and learn
. The Edinburgh Bead Fair (www.edinburghbeadfair.co.uk)Â is gathering momentum, growing arms, legs and tables at a rate of knots and the classes side of it, which happens to be my department, is filling up slowly but surely. Then, all of a sudden, in the space of a couple of days it's all gone a bit mad! Orders coming in left, right and centre, brides wanting bridey type stuff at the drop of a hat, and Craft Fair organisers dangling FIVE extra Craft Fairs in front of my nose, all before Christmas (well....it would be rude to refuse). Please don't think I'm complaining, I work better under pressure (or so I keep telling myself). Mmmmm....better get off here then and get some jewellery done

I am steel,
metallic matrix
strong alloy,
solid solution
stainless...
Water flows over me
no sign left
only small drops
of fresh nothing...
As I am made of steel
Flames can't burn me,
I'm stainless cold
corrosion-resistant.
Rust will not consume
my protected veins of light,
reflected on the shining surface
as I am steel
and so is my heart...
heavy solid
barrier of chromium
Rust-proof
Pain-proof
Unassailable
But... a unique melting point.
Sensational status
Irreversible
Inevitable:
The elasticity of my bouncing soul.

Finished the pet portrait tonight! For now, I will put it away for a week or possibly two, then take another look. If there are any minor touch-ups that are needed, I’ll make them then. Plus I will be emailing a photo to Linda, the artist who taught the pet portrait class I took in June. If she has any suggestions, I’ll be addressing those as well.
This portrait took longer than I expected, mainly because I hit a bad patch with it. There was something not quite right and it took me a while to figure it out. I spent way too much time avoiding painting so that I wouldn’t have to work on it. Not the best way to handle it! But yesterday I had a breakthrough and the changes I made just seem to turn the painting (and my attitude) around. It was such a relief to finally be happy with where the painting was heading and to actually want to paint again!Â
 Â
Now the only other major decision I have is whether to paint the two-inch sides a dark brown or a dark gray. Decisions, decisions…
