This week has been a bit of a culture shock. I work in a school. I'd like to tell you what I do in the school but it's one of those jobs where I do a bit of this, a bit of that, a bit of the next thing and it's really difficult to define what I actually DO do....suffice to say, it involves arty stuff. In fact so arty is our arty stuff that we just finished a year long project making Van Gogh's Starry Night....in...em...buttons (I confess, it was my idea... I sometimes question my own sanity). Anyway, it's finished and it's lovely. But I digress. After 6 weeks of lovely, happy, carefree, rainy Summer days we went back to school yesterday. Not only did this involve getting up at 7am (yea Gods....that's the middle of the night!) but it involved two days of sitting listening to various people droning on and on and on whilst wriggling about on incredibly uncomfy seats with chewing gum holding them together in a freezing cold hall (we're only staff, apparently we don't need any form of heating... ). The shock of it all was obviously too much for me because today I feel yucky and fluy and cold and hot and achey and just generally yuck. That's okay though because tomorrow is my day off so I can spend it in my bed so that I'm all better for WORK on Thursday - is there no justice in this world?
