I received a fresh shipment of new canvases (regardless of what canvas I have in stock, this always charges my desire to be at the easel). I spent the better part of yesterday rocking out to some favorite music while painting and loved every minute of it.
I finished the border on Pazzley's pet portrait. I also got a very good start on two other portraits on my July schedule... A fun coffee theme portrait painting of Tazo and Jamocha (A gift order so I've changed their names for ultimate secrecy!), and A portrait of the very sweet Morgan and Emily.
I also finished a new mixed media acrylic on canvas painting:

Westie Close-Up On Red

Up and out the door early this morning to get coffee - (aka my email-reading companion).
Managed to read for a good 10 minutes before Suki (my baby/monkey/dog) woke up and wanted breakfast. Opened the fridge to find NO Suki-food! So I had to run to the store to get some. Back with food - had to hand-feed Suki (yes she's spoiled & it's becoming quite a chore, but other than that, she's a dream so I don't complain - much).
Finally celebrated Suki's breakfast success with a bacon treat while I snuck back into the office to get back to work. Spent the rest of the morning compiling links to designs to be listed in a licensing agreement until [YAY!] the happiest interruption of the day - My MUGGLES book draft arrived!
I immediately opened and read it and much to my surprise, NO changes were needed! So as of this afternoon, the ISBN # has been ordered and we're getting SO close to finally putting Muggles' New Home out there for everyone to enjoy!

Now, I KNOW July 4th has come and gone - I KNOW this, and yet... upon updating my drawing board to-do list today, I realized that June has come and gone and I somehow STILL have most of JUNE's commissions on my list and they are now fighting with JULY's commissions for top ranking!
I have to buckle down & finish the next auction's art so I can focus more time on actually PAINTING commissions for the rest of the month.
I think I also need to learn to schedule myself much more time in between projects. Or maybe it'd be easier to just download an app that zaps me with electric shock when I'm falling behind schedule.
