Painting with children - update!
Posted by: Aitch on Sep 10, 2010
I'm amazed (and indeed a tad embarrassed) to see that it has been nearly 7 months since I wrote the blog post about painting with my grand-daughter. I have only just realised that I never did actually post the finished painting on here, despite my resolution to do just that once I'd charged the battery in my camera.
Anyway, if you remember, the original painting we did together was one by Paul Klee, entitled Senecio. Here is a photo of the original painting:
Here is the painting that my grand-daughter, Evie, completed based on the above:

Finally, here she is looking oh-so-proud of her achievement! :

There's nothing quite like sharing my passion for art with my young grand-daughters. I can't wait for my niece to show an interest in painting and drawing (she's only 15months old but I'm itching to thrust a paintbrush in her hand already!) as children show such pleasure in creating anything.
Apologies for the long delay in posting these photos - I'd almost forgotten about them!

I've been working with my six year old niece on drawings and the occasional painting and find it to be so joyful and inspiring. I love seeing her so alive with creativity.
