Meet my Emmi, she is our 16 yr old companion cat. Emmi's favorite pastimes are eating and sleeping in the sun.
She loves when I am in the studio because that is "our" time. She is usually found in her sunny spot near my easel.
I have painted her many, many times and she graces the walls of many homes in the form of my paintings and the blessing is that have also helped cat charities.
When I did this painting several months ago I offered it for sale but then decided that it was SO HER, it became part of my own personal collection of oils.
Many times when I use her form as a model I am not concerned that it is a portrait as such, she is my "generic" cat... but this painting I did fall in love with because it really is her. With Emmi being at age 16 having this painting of her becomes even more precious to me.
At 16 she is still our feisty little thug who loves to boss our Dalmatian around. She is the queen!
