','<p>The title- Being One (with Nature) refers to the man who appears in profile in the lower right portion of the mosaic. 8.5in x 10.5in (21.5 x 26.5 cm) Mosaic is constructed with a unique layering method. Tempered glass, grouted in mocha, is the first layer. Within this layers are a few leaves that the next layer of recycled and stained glass is pieced around. More texture happens in this layer with glass leaf shape beads and ceramic butterfly and ladybug beads.</p>','1000','999'))

 where I reproduced, in vitreous tile, a wall quilt I made years ago before moving on to use of more enduring materials. Vitreous tile was used for this reproduction since it was the first material I played with to create a simple mosaic table top.I quickly moved on to the use of stained glass and this is represented in the outer section on the front. As my journey continued, I began to incorporate stones, glass beads and various tile types. Most recently I have been exploring smalti, which I’ve used here in the center square.','998','999'))
