New art about old life by NZ artist, Ira Mitchell-Kirk

Some days I react to my husband, in the way I would in my past life of abuse; with fear. I am trying to remember that he is a kind man; probably the first meaningful man in my life who has been kind to me. 40 years of reacting a certain way, with fear; trains you to be timid and aggressive all at once. My art lets me express and reflect on my journey and the joy I feel now.
