Total Art Soul - for artists

HaHa! That is too bad. Our city just got a minor league team & new stadium last year. It is so fun. I would go there everyday if I had the time.

What fun topic.

Tatum, I live in the Atlanta area and don't watch baseball...married a "non sporting" hubby. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes not.

What else do I do, well I retied after 33 years with the govt. at the end of January and since that time I have been torching, marketing and all that goes with starting a small business at home.

I have been a quillter, fiber artist, beader, polymer clay artist and jewelry maker, still have everything that goes with all of those crafts. I always said that I was collecting for my retired years when I wouldn't have the money to get them....now I just need to find the time.

When I worked the time moved so slowly you could actually see the seconds tick by. Now, I have no idea where the time goes but it sure moves faster. I can't believe that almost a half a year has gone by.

I haven't gotten into a routine yet, soon, maybe soon. I would so love to get back into my fiber arts. I love the mix of fiber and beads and paper and whatever else can be combined to make art.

Hubby and I live in the backwoods of Georgia, our house is in the trees and I look out into the branches and love the green. I was born and raised in the San Joaquin valley in California, desert dry and hot. This is such a cool respite.

What else do I do...

It's a cool thread indeed. It seems we're all so busy. It's a wonder we have any time for this forum! lol

I have tried my hand with other hobbies / crafts - sewing household items (curtains, cushions, etc) and clothes for my children when they were young / crochet/macrame (lots of doilies, tablecloths) / knitting (afghans, sweaters, socks, scarves) / quilting (wall quilts, bed quilts) and now jewelry making.

Check out some photos of several of my finished quilts on my blog. Should I post any of these photos to the gallery even though I don't sell them?

My elder daughter has requested a 2nd quilt - a traditional Hawaiian bed quilt (a major undertaking since most is done by hand) - she is not into sewing but knits - her thing is cooking and collecting cookware! BTW - she is a phenomenal high school teacher in Chicago!

My younger daughter has always had a knack for sewing (she loves her serger) - she made her own high school prom dress from scratch (of course, I helped a little!). I have to have a pattern to start - I am always amazed at her creations. Even though her educational background is in science (biology) she has talent in drawing, painting, and creative non-fiction writing (working on a MFA)!

As you can see, I'm very proud of my 2 daughters!

Yes!!! Post the photos. This site is about sharing creativity, not selling, so we want to see what you all can do.

Wish I had a knack for sewing,I think I was a big disappointment to my mother who was a professional.

I am with you Cathy, I do enjoy seeing or reading about other talents. Some amazing stories come from it!
