At least you didn't try to drink the turpentine, instead of sticking your brush in your coffee!

You know…. A paint-colored thumbprint might be an interesting signature….

LOL, If I ever go back to tole painting, I might try the thumbprint signature.
Jerry had his second surgery yesterday. His left eye is bothering him more than the right eye did. I ended up putting an extra dose of drops in it tonight. He is doing better now.
I signed my mountain painting ( name, not thumbprint, lol) and postd it in the gallery. And I started a barn painting. I am making myself paint scenes that are not all water scenes. I love doing the water ones, but felt I was getting into a rut.

Sometimes its hard to tell your self to stop isn't it.? I keep working when I know I'm too tired and I know I will mess it up and have to start again. I would save myself time by chilling out and just sitting down and watching TV instead

With you there sandpiper

Was chatting with some Etsians about absent minded art and asked why, no matter what colour you've been using, the paint water always tastes blue when you mistake it for your coffee mug.

The non- painters all asked 'what does blue taste like' and without fail all the artists replied 'blue, obviously'.

Thankfully I work in charcoal and watercolour so no danger of turps

I don't paint much now, but when I did, after a while I couldn't tell which was my glass of drinking water and which was the one for my brushes.
These days, I know I'm too tired to continue sewing or knitting, when I would have been further ahead if I had just watched TV for 6 hours-if you know what I mean
There's not much which is more disheartening than unpicking work on a couture wedding dress.

Aww Karin, that does sound bad. At least painters can usually fix things faster than that. We just slap another coat on.
