PLEASE! Someone give me a name! I'm begging you 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hi everyone. I am new here and was advised to join by an mightyfine inspirational suffolk artist called Peter Williams.

I am extremely perplexed at present . I am unable to think of a name for my handmade vintage button jewellery business! I have been thinking about it for the past FOUR months and have asked everyone I know but nothing seems right!

Any ideas are so very more than welcome. PLEASE NAME ME!

I thought you had gone with Harriets Of Fire.........

Actually, I think you have a good name already. I'd just use Harriet Pawsey Creations or something like that. I suspect you will be the only one with that name anyhow.

If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Are you looking for a play on words or something more serious?

These are the button phrases I could think of...
Cute as a button
All buttoned up
On the button
Button-hole

You might not want to use them exactly, but maybe they will shake something loose.

My husband suggests This Old Button. I think he is thinking of This Old House.

I hope that helps,
Connie

Oy... wouldn't know, sorry. My name came sort of naturally so I never really had to think about it... thankfully because then I would be as lost as you!

Good luck!

Vintage Button Jewelery by Harriet Pawsey

This name immediately tells your potential customers EXACTLY what you do, AND it identifies YOU exactly as the person doing what you do.

When it comes to business, I say be clear, concise and practical, where signage or written information is concerned.

The name I suggest would leave no questions to a viewer who might see it for three seconds on a roadside billboard. I always hate conceptual slogans or names that force viewers to guess what somebody or some business does.

Be clear, be concise, and be fast.

Very happy that Peter recommended our site and I sure do hope we can help you.

I do think Robert is right in that it's a good marketing tip to have a name that says precisely what you do. It does help a lot when you're marketing yourself.

I do think however the name Robert suggests is a little long since most of us use the internet and we tend to usually only have space for a relatively short name.

I tend to call a spade a spade and most of the titles of my artworks just simply say what they are, no frills. I'm waffling now in the hope a name springs to mind. lol

Button Gems
Retro Button Jewellery
Button Jewels
Harry's Button Accessories (bit long maybe)

Hope some of these ideas might give you one of your own. Let us know what you decide on please. I'll be thinking of this all day now. lol
