I love this one! I never feel finished and force myself to abandon my paintings at some point...I alwasy thought it was just me!

Hmm, even when they're sold I sometimes still look at them with a critical eye as I'm packing them up, thinking of ways in which I could have improved or altered them!

Aitch, I do that too! Even years later, when I look at a photo of a work someone has bought, I think, Jeez! I should have done this or that. Then I fel bad that it has mistakes in and someone bought it like that. Working on commissions all the time it's hard to be able to go back to it much later. I have to finish them and off they go.

But how do you know when it is finished, my work is very unfinished but sometimes MOH who really doesn't say much about my art will comment and say it is good like that, and leave it.

I read about how people often overwork pieces making them muddy or even dead looking. I used to follow a guys art work, he had a lot of talent but could make people look plastic!

Hard isn't it, often I make a gaff right at the end of a picture and then need to repair, rework or worse!

I think it's a problem most artists have. Knowing when to leave it alone! I've got a habit of overworking everything.
