Total Art Soul - for artists

Hello to everyone,
Sorry it's taken me so long to post but i am just trying to figure out this wonderfull site.
I have been very inspired by all the artist paintings on here, and photography and sketches and so on.
I stumbled across this site a while back and wanted to join but did not have the confidence in my work because i have always sketched but not painted,but i then lost my father and i was given his paint board and i thought i would try to paint to help me through some hard times, my main interest is writing poetry.
I am so gratefull to be on this site.

Hi Gillipy and a belated welcome to you. Glad you've been inspired by the talent here. It's a joy to work on this site each day and see the amazing talent of our members.

Art is a wonderful therapy to help us through difficult times so it's great that you were able to paint and follow in your father's footsteps. It must be great comfort to you.

Feel free to post any of your poetry, either in your personal blog section or on the forum in the Writers section. We also take submissions for the main site blog if you have an interesting article you would like to share. We've had one poet already published there with a poem and the analysis of it. It was very interesting to see their thought process.

I was very touched by your process of healing through painting. I believe that authenticity is the most important element of art because if art is honest it will be infused with the unique spirit of it's maker. I see this element in your work and find it very inspiring.

With respect to 'sketching' - I have always loved drawing and even when I made the switch from painting to fiber art I still continue to draw. The hand drawn line has a simple directness that comes straight from you and I would encourage you to give your sketches as much value (not necessarily monetary) as your painting.

Thank you so much for your kindness and encouraging words,
I am so honoured to be on this site because of so many fabulous art work, i would really like to share my poetry it is something i really enjoy doing.
Before my father passed away i was not really confident in what i like doing poetry and sketching and i was always a busy mum , but like i wrote before i was given his paint board so i thought i would "try" to paint, both of my daughters are independent grown ladies now and i am liking what i am gaining back and that is the person i used to be before i became a mum.
So out of something that was so devastating to me came something positive also.

Hi cathy i have put one on my blog, it's a humour poem i have many more, and would love to share them some are of recent and they are abit morbid and i do not want to dampen peoples spirits, but if you like i would share one.
