I do *waves*!

Have only been working with it since May as we moved house and were all a bit up in the air for a while!

I work with sea glass and pottery reclaimed from local beaches so it is important to me to use recycled silver. With two potential suppliers of recycled silver in the UK, I'm hoping to be 100% recycled in 2011.

I have so much to learn but am really enjoying it!

Hi Laura - nice to meet you. I don't know much about seaglass, but keep seeing it on Etsy. Is that like bottles that have got lost at sea and been eroded till they're smooth? I really like the look of it.
Do you have a link so we can look at your stuff?
Lovely to meet you - and good luck - it's horribly addictive and not cheap!!

Hi Sahetah
sorry I didn't see this before.
If you create your own glass beads you'd love working in silver - when I say fine silver I mean metal clay - the best stuff in the world to work with - though not cheap.
I actually learned silver smithing about 12 years ago but gave up because of the equipment and expense and then got into metal clay. I would also love to have a go at glass beads but the start up costs look horrendous and I couldn't find the thousand pound I was told you needed to start - though I'm sure I have spent loads more than that since starting with clay. You could make some awesome findings. If you want to know anymore do get in touch,
Sue

You are right about it not being cheap Sue!

Yes, sea glass comes from old bottles, lights and things which have been thrown away many years ago and become all smoothed, frosted and lovely through years of being thrown around in the sea!

I've only uploaded two images so far on this site but you can see more on my website or flickr

Hope the links work!
