My mother was a superb seamstress and made dresses for royalty. It was naturally assumed that I would be good at sewing! NOT! I can do it, but it takes a huge amount of energy and concentration and I ALWAYS make mistakes. I guess it's just not my forté.

I am a full time tapestry designer now, but some years ago I made patchwork Quilts for my two boys out of old jeans. One day while I was stitching a man knocked on my door asking to use the telephone because his car had broken down. We had a cup of tea while he waited for the AA and I showed him my patchwork.
Off he went when his car was fixed and the next day, I found a bag full of old jeans on my doorstep.

Hello Wendy!

Looks like you figured out how to navigate the site now!
I just love your work
I admire your infinite patience, quilting and doing needle point.

The last 10 years (after a career in fashion) I've been designing and making couture wedding gowns, and most people find that sort of work painstaking, but I couldn't begin to master the patience for needle point cushions! As to quilting, I have about a dozen pieced together but cannot get the enthusiasm to finish with backing and batting.
I think if I didn't have the wedding deadline looming for each of my clients dressed I might never finish anything. I need strong motivation, as I find my mind wandering to the next project well before I finish the one I'm on.

Any one else have this problem?

Yes, me! I really have a problem finishing anything. I work on several things all at once because I constantly get bored. My mind is always wandering off somewhere else. I wonder why? Any ideas?

I have so many ideas and such limited time. I often wish I could delegate the "grunt" work to others to have those ideas realized, so I could move on to the next thing.

Actually, that's what my former bosses used to use me for....
