I've stayed on the island of Maui twice. Beautiful waters and the most colorful fish in the coral reefs. You can even feed the fish-they eat out of your hand and make a frenzied but gentle mad dash at you!
The Pacific around San Francisco is freezing cold (greatest concentration of great white sharks in the world too) so it's quite logical to take the 6 hour flight to Hawaii for warmer waters, which is only 3 hours more than flying to the tip of California.
The surfers here (and they are legendary) are just nuts, but amazing to watch

Joy's felted seascape reminded me of the intense oranges and reds
found in the coral in Hawaii, and the ocean is almost that color blue.

I saw the coral in our local sealife centre and thought it was amazing, such vibrant colours.
I rarely travel out of the UK. I hate the thought of pakage holidays and dont have the finances to to the kind of holiday I would like to do.But I do have a vivid imagination so I guess you could call me an armchair traveller

I am fascinated by things that inspire other people to create their art and by how our surroundings influence us. including the fabrics and colours we work with.

An interesting turn in this thread

Funny thing, but I just finished dyeing four silk gauze scarves. I thought I might put a few in my shop and use one of the others to try my hand at nuno felting. I already have almot everything I need. I have a nice supply of merino and of course the silk gauze...wich is the heavier weight gauze, almost as eavy as silk chiffon.

I cant wait to dip into this lovely art form!

I am most interested in making nuno felted clothing...but I think I will start out small with the scarves LOL!
