TOPIC: Losing your Mojo

Losing your Mojo 5 Years, 7 Months ago
So there I was laying in a hospital bed after two major operations (this summer) and the nurse said to me, oh dear you have lost your Mojo....yes I flippin well had.

At home, recovering unable to get out and photograph, sit and paint or even spend more than 10 mins at my laptop my Mojo was no where to be seen.

I couldnt even bear to look at photographs on Flickr boohoo.

Even TAS had dumped me on twitter......

But now my Mojo is back. I am clicking the camera, I have started to paint and I am out gardening! I am wasting time on the Internet and have joined a site where photographers post their photographs for artists to paint! Which may be of use to some people here? Anyway I hope to log on more often and look around the gallery.

Best wishes Blu

PS they featured one of my photographs!

Quote from the Urban Dictionary
Mojo
1. Self-confidence, Self-assuredness. As in basis for belief in ones self in a situation. Esp. I context of contest or display of skill such as sexual advances or going into battle.
2. Good luck fetish / charm to bolster confidence.
3. ability to bounce back from a debilitating trauma and negative attitude
He lost his mojo when she dumped him…
He got his mojo back now.

So, where did you find your Mojo?? I ask because maybe that is where mine is hiding too. I had major surgery in Jan,, and have been struggling with mobility issues which have made it tough to paint, draw, take photographs-my life has become sleeping late, going to drs and physical therapy, and taking care of a ten yr old granddaughter (whom I love dearly) just am really really ready for school to start again.
I want my mojo back too.

Sorry to read that sandpiperrose, being unable to get out and being uncomfortable indoors, was what I had to grin and bear!

I guess my answer to finding your Mojo is, slowly revisit places that inspire you both outdoors and on the Internet, and don't be too hard on yourself if your creative side is a bit tarnished.

Do or visit something/somewhere NEW.

Read some books to inspire you.???

It seems to take time, but don't give up.

My very best wishes. Blu

Its funny as I've gotten older I've found that my tastes in art have changed a little, maybe I've just come to admire the complexity of other types of art more!
