its fantastic to have ones own studio- it becomes a way of lofe as well as an inspirations-constant-to know that you can go into yr studio and noone bothers you................

but if you have a family then its useful to have a place where you are- not always easy to combine people an d studio life

Hi! My name is Abby, I just joined the other day.

Anyway, I am very fortunate that I do have my own room to create in, although it's a bit plain because our house is currently for sale, so I took a lot of stuff off the walls etc. Still, it's great to have my own space!

That looks like paradise to me Abby. I reallyshould get round to taking a photo of my studio. I think you would all be shocked. There's no plaster on the walls and the insulation is cardboard for now or I cannot work in there in the winter. I have to use one of those bottled gas fires (it gets very cold here). I have one Velux window which just about give me enough light.

We have no proper wiring, only extension leads everywhere which I keep tripping over. I can only dream of a wonderful room like this one day. lol

Abbey - I would love that room, pity I don't live closer, I would buy your house

if i understand properly-that was you cathy- abt yr wk space...............i have always wondered why artists have to have difficulties in their wk spaces- well when the wporld stps putting so much attention on the material level- and see that the spiritual and artisitc way is where ther is power- only then will we have perhaps better wking conditions

in athens my building has no heating and i freeze ther- in my room there is a heater and its suffices...........but the building itself looks as though it could and will fall apart..............

here on shelter island my parents built me a grt studio- will take pictures- and it is comfortable and lots of light and space - i am really thankful

i guess we artists become super humans our creativity gives us courage and strength and shows the world the importance of our sefforts

Well said Marianne, I think Artist are much more willing to adapt to any circumstances to create!
