It's looking great! Hard to tell that it's not a photograph.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice about the troublesome paper, being a sculptor myself.

Not used Canson before, just W&N Bristol board. All I can think is you've contaminated the paper somehow, possibly hand marks or maybe a residue from a putty rubber, although knowing how meticulous you are, I doubt it's either.

If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I am just catching up after being away for a couple of weeks or so......150 hours on an art piece - yikes! I really wouldn't have the patience
However, the results are stunning
I have only ever had paper degrade when I have used an erasor on it, Stonehenge is notorious for it, in particulary the black.
Perhaps, it isin some way due to the number of layers because it doesn't look as though an erasor gets anywhere near

This is a very interesting piece. Beautifully rendered.
I have had a problem with a flaw in the paper...I had to start over as there was no way I could hide it.
Have you tried lifting out the mark with BlueTac. It does take the paper right back to white without damage to the paper.... maybe you could experiment on a small scrap of the same paper. either with an electric eraser or the BlueTac. sometimes if the rendering is not as even as I would like..I use a Chamios leather... which is great for blending. using a circular motion.
Please try out on a scrap...I don't want to to be the cause of you screaming... LOL

I hope this helps Dezkenob.

Superb work...I am watching this with great interest.

Blue Tac? Really? We have yellow tac but will experiment. I messed up my cat drawing by putting my 'paws' all over it!
