STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE IN CREATING PAPIER MACHE ARTWORKS

STEP 1 (SOAKING OF PAPER) Soak paper in a DEEP CONTAINER. Make sure that the paper is fully soaked for quick pulping.

STEP 2 (PULPING OF PAPER) There are 2 ways to PULP paper- By OSTERIZER or By HAND(Manually) Once you achieved its claylike pulpiness make sure that any traces of its original form(paper) is gone and that pulped paper was formed.

STEP 3 PREPARE A PLYWOOD AS BASE FOR YOUR CREATION. REMEMBER the size of your PLYWOOD would be the basis of the size of your creation. The bigger or the smaller the size of the plywood would be the size of your finish product. Angle your plywood in a slanting position for easy drip drying. once you start putting the pulped paper on top of the plywood make sure you already have a concept or design in mind.Once you made your design, with the use of a spoon you smoothen the wrinkled surfaces of your design. DO NOT USE SANDPAPER. it would destroy and roughen your creation.

STEP 4 (DRYING AND SMOOTHING) Just let your pulped creation dry under the sun. Once dry with the use of a spoon you smooth the surface and remove excesses of your design.

STEP 5 (BASE PAINTING) After your design has been smoothen. With the use of a RED OXIDE PAINT(ANTI RUST PAINT) you paint your design as its base. For protection of the hardened pulped paper. making it looked like it was carved.

STEP 6 (PAINTING AND EMBELLISHING) Paint your design. With a little artistic touch try encorporating some embellishment.with the use of some semi precious stones or beads or whatever concept of design you have in mind.
STEP 7 (FRAMING) This would depend whether you wish to frame your work of art.
